Online Cricket Betting: Markets, Odds and How to Bet

How online cricket betting works: match odds, top batter, session runs and live markets for Tests, ODIs, T20s and IPL, with crypto deposits and payouts.

Online cricket betting is easy right up until it rains. Picture it: you've backed the chasing side, you're happy with the price, and then the covers come on. By the time play restarts the chase is down to 31 overs, and the question isn't really who'll win any more. It's what happens to your bet. This guide covers that stuff (rain, ties, dead heats) along with the markets and the odds, so none of it comes as a surprise.

Online cricket betting: the basics

Think of every match as a menu. There's the result, obviously, but also the top scorer, the number of sixes, the runs in the next over, and each line on that menu has a price beside it. You tap a price, it sits in your bet slip, you add a stake. The slip shows what you'd get back. Happy? Confirm. The price is now fixed, even if the market moves straight after.

So the mechanics take ten seconds. Choosing the right market and recognising a good price takes rather longer, and knowing how bets settle when the match goes sideways is the bit most people skip.

There are two windows. Bets placed before the first ball are pre-match, and those prices come from team news, the ground, the forecast and (when it's happened) the toss. Once play starts you're in-play, and prices move with every delivery.

Jacks Club keeps its cricket odds in a section of their own. We counted 24 competitions there in early November 2026, with in-play matches going at the same time. The IPL was on it. So were international Tests and ODIs, the T20 Blast, The Hundred, the Women's Big Bash League, the U19 Asia Cup and, a little off the beaten track, the Nepal T20 Premier League. Markets differ by match (a Test won't carry a T20's list), so check the match page for what's open.

Cricket betting markets

Almost every cricket market falls into one of a few families. Here are the ones you'll bump into most, each with a quick worked example. The prices are made up to show the maths; they aren't quotes from any board.

  • Match winner. The obvious one. White-ball games are usually two-way, but a Test has a third outcome, the draw. Say it's home 2.05, draw 3.60, visitors 3.80: 20 USDT on the draw returns 72 USDT if time runs out before anyone forces a result.

  • Toss. Which captain calls it right before play (the winner then picks bat or bowl). It's a coin flip, literally, so all you're really judging is how much margin is baked into the price. No toss, no bet: toss bets are void if it doesn't happen.

  • Top batter and top bowler. Who'll make the most runs, or take the most wickets? You can bet it for one team, one innings or the full match. Fancy an opener at 4.50 to top-score for his side? Ten USDT on him is worth 45 USDT if he gets there. Two bowlers level on wickets? Under the Jacks Club rules, the one who went for fewer runs wins the market.

  • Session and over runs. A Test session is the play before lunch, between lunch and tea, or after tea, and you're betting on how many runs come in it. White-ball cricket borrows the idea for a block of overs (a T20's first six, say) or a single over. So if the line for the first six overs is 48.5 and the score after six reads 52 for 1, anyone on over 48.5 gets paid.

  • Totals. Over or under a line on sixes, fours, runs, extras and the like. Backing over 14.5 sixes in a T20 means you need 15 of them. Only boundaries off the bat count in the fours and sixes markets, so a four from overthrows or byes is no help.

  • Method of dismissal. How a named batter, or the next wicket, goes: caught, bowled, LBW, run out, stumped or one of the rarer ways. Caught is the favourite for a reason. An ESPNcricinfo analysis found catches made up about 57% of all Test dismissals up to the end of 2012. Caught-and-bowled counts as caught, and if your batter never gets out, the bet's void.

  • Man of the match. Whoever the officials name. It's a judgement call, not a stat, so a bowler with four wickets can lose out to a batter with a hundred. If no award is made, bets are void.

  • Series and tournament outrights. Who wins the whole thing: the New Zealand v India Test series, the Big Bash, the 2027 Men's Cricket World Cup. Your stake sits there for weeks. Jacks Club settles outrights "all in run", which means if your pick doesn't take part, you lose.

How to read cricket odds

We'll stick to decimal odds, because they're the easiest to work with. The number is what comes back for each 1 you stake, stake included. So 10 USDT at 1.80 returns 18 USDT: your 10 plus 8 profit.

Want the probability hiding in a price? Divide 1 by it. 1.80 gives 0.556, an implied 55.6% chance. 2.10 works out at 47.6%.

Now do both sides of a T20 priced 1.80 and 2.10:

  • 1 divided by 1.80 = 55.6%

  • 1 divided by 2.10 = 47.6%

  • Total = 103.2%

A perfectly fair book adds up to 100%. That extra 3.2% is the bookmaker's margin (the overround), and every bet you place pays a slice of it. Put another way, cricket odds always run a touch shorter than fair prices. If two books price the same game, the one with the lower total is giving you more.

Using it is straightforward. Rate the chasing side at 60% and see 1.80 (55.6%) on the board? By your numbers that's worth taking. Rate them at 50% and it isn't, however much you like the team.

Tests vs ODIs vs T20s

Format changes what you're betting on. It changes the settlement rules too.

A Test is scheduled for five days, at least 90 overs on a normal day, with a 40-minute lunch and a 20-minute tea carving each day into three sessions. All that time is the point. It can run out, which is why Test odds include a draw, and why rain matters so much: every lost hour makes the draw likelier. Ties are a different beast. You need every innings completed with the scores level, and only two Tests in history have finished that way.

Then there's the follow-on, the Test quirk that moves prices most. If the side batting first is 200 or more ahead, its captain can make the opposition bat again straight away. (When bad weather leaves only three or four days of the match by the time play begins, that figure drops to 150.) Enforcing it buys time to force a win, so watch the draw price drift once it's on the cards.

ODIs are 50 overs a side. Rain shortens one? That's when the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method (DLS) kicks in, resetting the target from the overs and wickets each side still has. A result needs both teams to have had a shot at 20 overs or more. Anything shorter is a no result. That line decides your match-winner bet. A DLS win is a win. A no result voids the bet and hands your stake back.

T20s follow the same logic in miniature: 20 overs a side, at least five each for a result, DLS when it rains. Ties get settled on the field. In ODIs and T20Is a tie now goes to a super over (one over each, with an innings over if two wickets fall), and if that's level they keep playing super overs until somebody wins. The match stays tied only when the super overs can't be completed.

What does that do to your bet? Match-winner bets follow the official result, super over and all. Player and totals markets don't: super-over runs and sixes count for nothing in top batter or match sixes.

Live cricket betting

For plenty of people, live odds are the whole reason to bet on cricket. A T20 can swing three times in one evening and the price chases every swing.

Wickets shift the market more than anything. One nudges the fielding side shorter. Two in an over, or a set batter gone, can flip the favourite outright. Runs push back the other way, slowly, until one big over hauls the chasing side back into it.

Start by watching the powerplay. A T20I powerplay is the first six overs. Only two fielders can be outside the 30-yard circle, batters tend to swing, and the run lines for those overs are priced to match. ODIs do it in stages, with two fielders allowed out for overs 1 to 10, four from 11 to 40 and five for the last ten overs. Lose a wicket in the powerplay and it hurts twice. You're a batter down, and the scoring slows while the field's still up.

Before the first ball, the pitch report and the toss both nudge prices. Got a view on whether a ground suits batting first or chasing? Waiting for the toss can pay, because the price may move once the decision's known. Treat that as information, not a guaranteed edge.

One practical thing to finish. Our sportsbook terms let live bets be accepted after a short delay, which leaves a gap where the price can move between your tap and the confirmation. Set your stake before the start, too. Chasing losses in-play is how a small one becomes a big one.

What to look for in a cricket betting site

Cricket betting sites love bragging about how many matches they cover. After a few bets, you'll care about other things:

  • Margins. Total up the implied probabilities on a match, like the 103.2% example above, and compare books. Lower total, cheaper bets.

  • Stake limits. Every book caps stakes somewhere. Planning a big bet on a niche market? Find the maximum before you need it.

  • Payout speed. A winning bet only counts once it's back in your wallet. Crypto withdrawals are usually quick, though a busy network can slow any coin down.

  • Live coverage. Not the count of matches, the depth: how many markets stay open once play starts and how fast the prices update.

  • Settlement rules. A decent cricket betting website spells out rain, DLS, ties, super overs and reduced overs. Can't find those rules? That tells you something.

  • The phone experience. Most live bets go on from a phone, so the site needs to load fast and keep pace with the over.

Tours and leagues to bet on this season

There's barely a quiet week between now and the spring. We checked these dates in early November 2026, and schedules do move, so confirm on the cricket board before you bet.

November

  • India are in New Zealand. Five ODIs run from 4 to 15 November, and the Tests follow in Wellington (19 to 23 November) and Christchurch (27 November to 1 December).

  • Sri Lanka tour Pakistan for two Tests: Rawalpindi from 9 to 13 November, Lahore from 17 to 21 November.

  • England's white-ball trip to Australia means three ODIs from 13 November and five T20Is from 21 November. The one-off Test between them comes later, a day-night game at the MCG in March 2027.

  • South Africa v Bangladesh opens with two Tests from 15 November. Three ODIs follow from 1 December, then three T20Is from 10 December.

December

  • The Women's Big Bash League has been running since late October, and the final is on 5 December.

  • Australia v New Zealand is a four-Test series. Perth hosts the first on 9 December, and the Boxing Day Test is at the MCG.

  • The Big Bash League runs from 12 December to 26 January. This season it opens in Chennai before moving to Australia.

  • India and Sri Lanka play three ODIs from 13 December, then three T20Is from 22 December.

  • South Africa v England brings three Tests from 17 December, then three ODIs from 10 January.

2027

  • SA20 runs from 17 January to 21 February.

  • India v Australia is a five-Test series from 21 January, starting in Nagpur.

  • The Pakistan Super League goes from 18 March to 2 May.

  • IPL 2027 dates weren't fixed when we checked. Last season ran from 28 March to 31 May, and our IPL 2026 preview explains how the league works for bettors.

  • The Bangladesh Premier League hadn't confirmed dates for its next edition either.

  • Then the big one: the 2027 Men's Cricket World Cup, 2 October to 21 November in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, and next year's biggest outright.

Settlement rules that catch people out

Cricket betting rules settle more arguments than any umpire. Below are the ones that surprise people most, as the Jacks Club sportsbook terms set them out. The full wording is on the sportsbook rules page, with the cricket section in the terms document linked from there, and five minutes with it before your first bet is time well spent.

  • Abandoned and cancelled matches. Match bets settle on the official result, weather or not, so a DLS win stands. No official result means void bets and your stake back. A cancelled match is void unless it's replayed or restarted within 36 hours of its advertised start.

  • Reduced overs. These void more bets than people expect. In limited-overs games, totals like match sixes or fours are void if fewer than 80% of the scheduled overs in either innings can be bowled because of weather or other outside factors, unless the bet was already decided. For top batter and top bowler the figure is 50%, measured against the overs scheduled when you placed the bet.

  • Ties and super overs. If a super over decides the match, match bets follow that result, but super-over runs and sixes still don't count for top batter or match sixes. A tied Test is settled as a dead heat between the two teams, and draw bets lose.

  • Dead heats. Two batters level as top scorer? Your stake is divided by the number tied and only that share gets paid at your odds. Say you've 10 USDT on a batter at 5.00 and he finishes level with a teammate on 64. Half the stake (5 USDT) is paid at 5.00, returning 25 USDT. The other half loses.

  • Batters who never bat. A top batter bet on someone in the starting XI stands even if he never walks out, which in practice means it loses. A bet on that batter's own runs line is void instead.

  • The Test wrinkle. For first-class matches, top batter bets cover each team's first innings only, and they're void if fewer than 200 overs are bowled.

Betting on cricket with crypto at Jacks Club

Jacks Club is a crypto sportsbook, so money moves in crypto both ways: USDT, Bitcoin, Ethereum and other coins (14 in the wallet, USDC, XRP, Solana and TON among them). Withdrawals are usually quick. Don't want your balance moving with the crypto market across a five-day Test? USDT and USDC track the US dollar.

No app store needed, either. The site installs to your home screen as a web app and opens without the browser bar, and our cricket betting app guide shows how on Android and iPhone.

Ready? Open the cricket section, pick a match and see what's open. Budget first, always. Betting at Jacks Club is for over-18s only.

FAQ

How do I bet on cricket online?

Open the sportsbook's cricket section and pick a match, then a market. Tapping a price puts it on your bet slip. Type your stake, check what it would return, and confirm. From the moment it's accepted, your price is locked.

What happens to my bet if rain stops play?

Match bets settle on the official result, so a DLS win counts. No result? Bets are void and stakes come back. Some markets, total sixes for one, are also void when too many overs go (at Jacks Club, if fewer than 80% of the scheduled overs in either innings can be bowled).

Is a tie the same as a draw?

No. A draw is a Test running out of time. A tie is scores level with every innings complete. Tied ODIs and T20Is now go to a super over, while a tied Test is settled as a dead heat and draw bets lose.

Can I bet on cricket while a match is live?

Yes. During in-play matches the board shows live cricket odds that update as the game goes. Bets may be accepted after a short delay, and what's on offer varies by match.

What do cricket odds of 1.80 mean?

For every 1 you stake, 1.80 comes back if it wins (your stake included), so 10 USDT turns into 18 USDT. As a probability that's 1 divided by 1.80, or 55.6%.

Which coins can I use?

USDT, Bitcoin, Ethereum and other coins, 14 in total. Winnings land back in your crypto wallet, and withdrawals are usually quick.
