American odds use a plus or minus. A team at -150 means you stake 150 to win 100. A team at +200 means a stake of 100 returns 200 in profit. The minus side is the favourite.

Decimal odds are simpler. Multiply your stake by the number and that is your total return, original stake included. So 2.50 turns a 10 stake into 25 back.
