Caribbean Stud Poker

Caribbean Stud Poker is a classic casino poker game from Evolution Premium that combines traditional five-card poker hands with straightforward dealer-versus-player gameplay.

Unlike Texas Hold'em and other multiplayer poker games, Caribbean Stud Poker is played against the house. You receive five cards and the dealer receives five cards, with the aim of making a stronger poker hand than the dealer.

With a 98.19% RTP listed at JacksClub, Caribbean Stud Poker is an appealing option for players who enjoy poker-style table games but want a simple format without competing against other players.

Play Caribbean Stud Poker Online

You can play Caribbean Stud Poker online at JacksClub through Evolution Premium.

The game uses a standard 52-card deck, with the cards shuffled after each round. Multiple players can participate at the same table, but each player is competing against the dealer rather than against the other players.

Evolution originally launched its Live Caribbean Stud Poker in 2015, creating a dedicated online live version of the popular casino game.

The result is a fast-paced poker game that combines the familiarity of traditional poker hands with the simplicity of a casino table game.

How to Play Caribbean Stud Poker

Caribbean Stud Poker is easy to learn.

Each round begins with an Ante bet. You and the dealer are then dealt five cards.

Four of the dealer's cards remain face down, while one dealer card is exposed. You can use your five cards and the dealer's exposed card to assess the strength of your hand before deciding what to do next.

You have two choices:

  • Play by placing a Play bet worth 2x your Ante

  • Fold and forfeit your Ante

If you choose to Play, the dealer reveals the remaining cards and the two hands are compared.

If you fold, the round ends immediately and your Ante is lost.

Dealer Qualification

The dealer must have at least an Ace-King combination or better to qualify.

If the dealer does not qualify, your Ante pays 1:1 and your Play bet is returned.

If the dealer qualifies, your hand is compared with the dealer's hand.

If your hand is stronger, your Ante pays according to the relevant Ante payout rules and your Play bet pays 1:1.

If the dealer has the stronger hand, both your Ante and Play bets lose.

If you and the dealer have identical five-card hands, the result is a push and your bets are returned.

Caribbean Stud Poker Hand Rankings

The standard poker hand rankings apply, with the strongest hands offering the largest potential payouts.

A Royal Flush is the strongest possible hand, consisting of an Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten of the same suit.

Because the game is played with five-card hands, understanding the relative strength of these combinations is important when deciding whether to continue with your hand.

Progressive Jackpot

Evolution's Caribbean Stud Poker has also featured an optional Progressive Jackpot side bet.

The Progressive Jackpot was introduced as an additional feature that gives players the opportunity to win larger prizes from particularly strong poker hands. The jackpot grows as qualifying Progressive Jackpot bets contribute to the prize pool, with the top jackpot awarded for a Royal Flush.

The jackpot side bet is separate from the main Caribbean Stud Poker game, so you can still win a jackpot prize even when you don't win the main hand under the qualifying rules.

Availability and specific jackpot functionality can vary depending on the table and operator configuration.

Caribbean Stud Poker RTP

The current JacksClub listing gives Caribbean Stud Poker an RTP of 98.19%.

RTP, or return to player, represents the theoretical long-term percentage returned to players. It does not mean that you will receive 98.19% of your wager back during an individual session.

Every hand is independent, and short-term results can vary significantly.

Caribbean Stud Poker Strategy

One of the most important decisions in Caribbean Stud Poker is whether to Play or Fold after receiving your five cards.

A basic strategy generally involves continuing with stronger hands and folding weaker holdings. Your decision should take into account both your own five-card hand and the dealer's exposed card.

Strong made hands such as pairs and better are generally straightforward Play decisions. With weaker hands, the dealer's exposed card becomes particularly important.

As with any casino game, strategy can help you make mathematically informed decisions, but it cannot guarantee a profit or remove the house edge.

Why Play Caribbean Stud Poker?

Caribbean Stud Poker is a good choice for players who enjoy poker but don't necessarily want a multiplayer poker game.

Some of its main advantages include:

  • Simple five-card poker gameplay

  • Dealer-versus-player format

  • No need to compete against other players

  • Familiar poker hand rankings

  • Straightforward Play or Fold decision

  • Optional side-bet opportunities

  • Live casino experience from Evolution Premium

  • 98.19% RTP listed at JacksClub

The format also makes individual rounds relatively quick, while still giving you an element of strategy when deciding whether to continue with your hand.

Caribbean Stud Poker vs. Traditional Poker

The biggest difference between Caribbean Stud Poker and games such as Texas Hold'em is who you are playing against.

In Texas Hold'em, you compete against other players and use community cards to construct your best possible hand.

In Caribbean Stud Poker, you play directly against the casino dealer. You receive five cards of your own and make a decision based on the strength of your hand and the dealer's exposed card.

This makes Caribbean Stud Poker much easier to pick up if you want a poker-themed casino game without learning the more complicated betting strategies associated with multiplayer poker.

Play Caribbean Stud Poker at JacksClub

Caribbean Stud Poker from Evolution Premium brings one of the casino world's most recognizable poker variants to JacksClub.

The rules are straightforward: place your Ante, receive five cards, check the dealer's exposed card and decide whether to Play or Fold. If you continue, your hand is compared with the dealer's once the remaining cards are revealed.

With a 98.19% RTP currently listed by JacksClub, Caribbean Stud Poker is an attractive option for players looking for a traditional poker-style table game with a simple dealer-versus-player format.

As with all casino games, results are determined by chance. Set a budget before playing and never wager more than you can comfortably afford to lose.
